After several updates being brought to Grand Theft Auto: Online, from the good to the bad, we’ve went from new clothes, to heists, vehicles, tattoos, hairstyles and the introduction to player created Organizations. Announced on the recent update on the Rockstar Games Newswire, a series of new updates are expected to shock and awe the community of Grand Theft Auto: Online.
Starting from a new game mode in which consists of creating your own stunt courses and sharing them online to play with the world.
This has been a long awaited game mode after the community started making race tracks that consisted of ramps and props merged together to make awesome blockades and jumps. Rockstar Games have taken the next step to actually release objects that are specifically for stunting on. Looking at the scale of the two vehicles in the image and the size of the tubes, I think it’s safe to say these things are going to be HUGE! It’ll be interesting to see what the creative side of the player base can create with this and how GTA $ and RP will be distributed, perhaps a new point system based on stunts completed?
Now if that’s not your cup of tea, I bet you this is, it is especially interesting to me, I’ve always seen GTA: Online as a project to consist of competitive Roleplay between players who wish to run their own factions and businesses. We’ve got the homes for it, we have the crews for it, now we have the Organizations but did we have the business? No.
What’s new to Organizations, then? The introduction to Contraband Trafficking, as quoted from the news wire:
In the stealing and dealing successor to Executives and Other Criminals, embark on further adventures in finance and felony as your Organization enters the lucrative and dangerous world of contraband trafficking. You’ll be working with your team from a selection of big new properties that serve as both headquarters for your Organization and warehouses for your hot merchandise. Manage inventory directly from your HQ, arranging to buy and sell anything from jewels to narcotics to medical supplies from a range of nefarious suppliers. Expect the unexpected as you head out with your team to make each pickup. Keep your stock in mint condition to maintain value and sell at a profit – and watch for raids on your warehouses between shipments!
Will this introduce more rampaging anarchy between players? Will it be micro-transaction based? Or will it consist of trolls in tanks? We won’t know until it’s released, however reading it right now at face value, this seems more in depth than what meets the eye, I think we’re expecting new cut scenes, new characters and perhaps the introduction to some more story mode characters trying to sell their wares to the players of Los Santos’.
Time will tell.
